Club Whitford & Beat 102103 “Celebrity Bainisteoir Boot Camp” goes NATIONWIDE 08/12/2009

Week one of the six week challenge has just finished, our boot campers have battled their way through the pain, the dietary changes and even all the technology that surrounds their workout and guess what they are still smiling and focused.  Michael Bolger (personal trainer) said “they’ve been great to work with so far and are 100% up for it so much so that when we tell told them they’re going to be on TV, they just say fine bring it on!

So no sooner said than done, last Monday RTE’s Nationwide paid a visit to Club Whitford to check up on the progress of “Celebrity Bainisteoir Bootcamp” and were indeed very impressed with the overall concept and the dedication displayed by the both the Bainisteoiri & their Boot Campers.  It’s difficult enough to rise to a challenge like this but to do it right through the Christmas festivities and at the same time fundraise for local charities; it has to be truly commended.

The Five Charities that stand to benefit from “Celebrity Bainisteoir Boot Camp” are: “The Special Olympics, RNLI Rosslare Harbour Lifeboats, St Gabriels Childrens Ward Wexford Hospital, The Tracie Lawlor Trust for Cystic Fibrosis and Console/1Life Suicide Awareness & Prevention Centre Wexford”. On behalf of the Five Charities we are making a public appeal to get behind Club Whitford & Beat 102103 “Celebrity Bainisteoir Bootcamp”  Donations can be made online www.whitford.ie Remember it’s all about YOU & CHARITY.

Club Whitford & Beat 102 103 launch “Celebrity Bainisteoir Boot Camp”

Five of Wexford’s ’96 All Ireland Hurling team go head to head for Five local Charities in “Club Whitford’s 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge”. The Bainisteoirs line up as follows: Larry Gorman, Tom Dempsey, Larry Murphy, Ger Cushe and Shane Carley.

The atmosphere was electric as the 30 volunteers met with their Bainsteoir last Saturday Morning. A wide selection of people, from all walks of life, each with their own personal goal and one united goal and that is to raise as much funds for Charity over the next 6 weeks of the “Club Whitford Body Transformation Challenge”.

Larry O Gorman was delighted with the response to the appeal and said they were inundated with entries. Michael Bolger from Club Whitford sifted through the entries and selected people based on their own individual needs, be it to lose weight, to increase their fitness levels and improve their overall health condition.

Each Bainsteoir has their own plan on how to get the best out of their team and all will be revealed throughout the challenge. Although rumors have it that a certain team were spotted in Whitford having Tea & Scones after the introductory meeting on Saturday morning, when questioned their Leader was quick to defend saying he didn’t let them have any cream on their scone and it was after all " Their last supper" He says that things are going to get tough from here on in, as they are up for winning the challenge and reckons they're going to SAIL through it! Larry Murphy wasn’t giving a lot away other than to say we’re focused and intend on laughing our way through the pain and hopefully raise as much funds for charity in the process!
